NEW!!! RPAC Deadline for 2017 NJR® Circle of Excellence Sales Award® is Friday, September  29th. Mercer County Association of Realtors must receive your contribution by the close of business(4:30 pm) on Friday, September 29th, 2017 to be eligible for the Circle of Excellence Award 1 industry unit. October 2nd is the deadline to complete certification forms for REALTOR Emeritus status for the annual meeting.  Applications will be approved at NAR’s 2017 REALTORS® Legislative Meetings & Trade Expo held in Washington, D.C. Certified REALTOR® Emeritus members do not pay dues to the National Association and are exempt from National’s Ethics Training requirement. National dues waiver begins with the 2018 dues. For 2017, you will need proof of 40 years of cumulative membership, as well as one year serving on a Local, State or National committee.  (“Service” is defined as serving as an officer, director, committee member, federal political coordinator, President’s liaison or regional coordinator to a country with which NAR holds a reciprocal agreement.)  Emeritus application forms MUST be verified and submitted by the local association online to NAR by October 2, 2017 for the annual meeting. National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) Extended.
On Thursday, September 7, the Senate voted to pass a three-month extension of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). The House of Representatives passed the legislation on Friday, September 8, 2017, and the President signed the bill into law later that day. This legislation ensures that the NFIP will not lapse on September 30, 2017, and will be extended until December 8, 2017.The NAR Call for Action concluded Friday, September 8, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. eastern time. NAR will continue our legislative advocacy efforts for the 21st Century Flood Reform Act until this long-term reauthorization and reform bill is enacted.
